Hello, I am Lisa Marie the founder and Chandler (Candle Maker) of
North Hampton Co.
How did it all started?
Over the years Working in interiors as a stylist I have adored candles, and always added them as my finishing touch to a room, the way they made a room feel and look, it could literally change the mood of a place.
I also burned candles at home that I bought or was gifted,
but I found that most of the time they seemed to leave me with awful headaches.
So at first about 10 years ago, I originally started to sell hand made candles from my Interiors shop Velvet Grey, which everyone loved. So I thought, yes lets make them, our very own with no added nasties and hey presto, no more headaches!
Then a few years later, well actually through lockdown this gave me an idea...
I decided to make my own Brand of products, we us to out source before in the interiors shop, but now
I wanted a hand made range but with individual stories attached to the candles etc
No one seemed to be doing this.
A range of trustworthy goods, kind to you, those you love and the planet.
So I looked deeper into the industry and became so aware that many candles are made with paraffin wax which if you look on products is re named .mineral wax yeah sounds a lot better doesn't it, but hey it is still paraffin wax, the same as yes you guessed it exhaust fumes only its bleached and has additives in. Also there are a lot of cheap blends of wax with additives such as smell enhancers and synthetic nasties.. You know a smidge of the good mixed with a lot of the toxic, I guess it is a lot like the food industry.
It might all look similar but it is so not.
So you have to look closer at what you are buying these days, as a consumer it can be confusing.
Not only did I want to make a great quality products, non toxic and as natural as possible!
I wanted to make the candles from a sustainable wax, so not just Soy or Soy blend, instead it had to be the very best available, which I found to be is certified organic Rapeseed and Coconut wax. It is not only beautiful, but is blended with coconut wax as this slows the burn right down plus it smells wonderful too. A wax you can trust.

Thats when I set up North Hampton Co, naturally Home, candles and products you can trust.
You can breathe in the scent and be proud to light our candles, as clean and as pure as I could make.
Also I am an ideas person and with my background as a window dresser and stylist and
self certified perfectionist lol.
I wanted the products to not only smell fantastic but look beautiful and have a also have a story to each hand made product.
The Name - North Hampton
I simply love my home town of Northampton.
I had the name North Hampton Co in mind for years. Did you know it actually origins from Saxon times, meaning home by the river or small farm/dwelling by the river, our local river is the River Nene, it's stunning water ways wind along and throughout our County of Northamptonshire, it is 105 miles long and 3.7 miles of it forms a border between Cambridge and Norfolk.
Northampton is the first Hampton to ever be named Hampton.
The Original "Hampton" so it is very special
The word North was added in many years later to differentiate from the South.
The area is steeped in history and the town is surrounded by beautiful villages and other wonderful towns, Northamptonshire is large and diverse and I adore it.

North Hampton Co, more than just another brand
The town is also twinned with another Market town, called Poitier in France, this fascinated me and so my husband and I took our first trip over two years ago, we adored the place, with its beautiful buildings and cafes, it was wonderful to see and also to discover more fragrances in the area too. So I made the Home & Away collections, some inspired by home/northants, some inspired by the coasts and country side of France and Ireland and so on.
So each candle has a story, for instance Saints and Scents is a fresh and lively scent made with a proud nod to the our now famous Northants Rugby team the Saints.
Then we have for an example we have Gentlesman's Choice from our Shoe Town Heritage collection made with a masculine blend of Bergamont, Rum, Tobacco leaf and clove.
It is a nod to the wonderful works of shoe makers of Northamptonshire
such as Crocket & Jones & Churches shoes.
A scent made in mind of the wearers of such magnificently classic shoes, worn by royalty
and even James Bond,
There are of course many more in the collections, so please feel free to browse.
We have recently added soaps and lotions to match some of our candles, plus wax melts in several scents. We intend to add so much more, we have cushion covers coming soon, tea towels gifts, just more lovely things to add to your beautiful home.
The Family team.
My team is basically lil ole Moi, my family and Coco the 4 year old Frenchie.
Mr M my husband is a wonderful help to me on market days and with delivery and Tommy my eldest son helps with social media and Ethan the youngest helps with scent decisions and pouring days.
I am teaching him as I go along.
Then we have our fluffy assistant Coco our Chocolate Frenchie., She is my little shadow and follows me very where, of course an essential member of our team , as I need those walks with her for inspiration.
My passion for excellence has driven us from the beginning and continues to inspire us going forward, as I have worked for some great companies for over 20 years in Window dressing/ styling/Interiors and then later for perfumeries Guearlain and Chanel. I have a wealth of knowledge for design and scent, so all my knowledge and skills are brought together for this wonderful brand, I am so very proud of!
The team and I at North Hampton Co, know that every product counts, and we strive to make the entire shopping experience as easy and rewarding as possible.
